Ingredients
- 200g plain flour
- 180ml cold water
- 2 tsp olive oil
- 55g butter
- 200g cream cheese
- 2 tsp ground nutmeg
Directions
- Gather all your ingredients on the kitchen bench and make sure you have all you need to hand.
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour, olive oil, and cold water to make a dough. Mix together for 5 minutes or until the texture is smooth.
- Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 3 minutes.
- Separate the dough into 4 equal sizes and roll each piece into a round flat shape about 20cm in diameter and 0.5cm thick. Joke: “Remember, you’re the twister, not the thrower!”
- Spread the cream cheese evenly on each of the rondures.
- Cut the butter into small, equal size cubes and spread evenly across the cream cheese.
- Sprinkle the ground nutmeg on top of each Kringel.
- Roll the rondures into large spirals.
- Preheat oven to 180C and bake for 40 minutes or until the Kringel is golden brown.
