Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- Pinch of black pepper
- 4 tablespoons vegetable shortening
- 1 cup skimmed milk
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- ¾ cup diced onion
- 2 cloves minced garlic
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cups skimmed chicken/vegetable stock
- ½ teaspoon dried sage
- ½ cup grated Cheddar cheese

Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius).

Mix together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, garlic powder, and a pinch of black pepper in a large bowl.

Add the vegetable shortening and use your hands to mix until it resembles a crumble.

Add the skimmed milk until a dough forms.

Lightly dust a work surface with all-purpose flour and roll out the dough.

Cut the dough into biscuit shapes and place in a greased oven-safe dish.

Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.

Heat the oil in a saucepan and add the diced onion and minced garlic. Fry for 3-4 minutes, stirring often.
