General Information
Ingredients
- 2 cups (480 ml) all-purpose flour
- 2/3 cup (160 ml) margarine
- 1/3 cup (80 ml) ice-cold water
- 2-3 cups sliced fresh strawberries
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) lemon juice
- Nonstick cooking spray
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (176°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, add the flour and margarine. Using your hands or a wooden spoon, combine the two ingredients until crumbly.
- Slowly add in the ice-cold water and mix until the dough forms a ball.
- Divide the dough into four pieces and roll out onto a floured surface until they are about 1/8-inch thick.
- Spray four tart pans (or one tart pan, if only one is available) with the nonstick cooking spray. Cut the dough in circles that are slightly larger than the diameter of the pans, and transfer the pieces to the pans, pressing them down with your fingers.
- In a medium-sized bowl, add the sliced strawberries and lemon juice. Give it a quick stir, and then spoon the mixture into the tart pans.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes or until the edges are golden brown. Allow to cool before serving.
Recommended Side
Olivia suggests serving the tartelettes aux fraises alongside a bowl of her homemade vanilla ice cream. While it’s not a healthy side, it definitely adds to the deliciousness!
