This recipe is easy to followand it’s a good one to share with the whole family. The chicken is roasted without any added salt or sugar and it will come out juicysucculent and delicious!
Ingredients
- 1 whole chicken (2 kg)
- 4 cloves of garlic (12 g)
- 1 lemon
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil (30 ml)
- 2 teaspoons of rosemary (4 g)
- 2 teaspoons of thyme (4 g)
- 2 teaspoons of paprika (4 g)
- 1 teaspoon of pepper (2 g)
- ⅓ cup of white wine (82 ml)
- ¼ cup of water (60 ml)
Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (392°F).
- Use a sharp knife to remove the giblets and any excess fat from the chicken.
- Place the chicken in a large roasting tray.
- Peel the garlic and cut into thin slices.
- Squeeze the juice from the lemon over the chicken.
- Place the slices of garlic over the chicken.
- Pour the olive oil over the chicken.
- Rub the rosemarythymepaprikaand pepper over the chicken.
- Pour the white wine and water into the bottom of the roasting tray.
Directions
- Place the chicken in the preheated oven and roast for 1 hour and 45 minutesbasting occasionally with the pan juices.
- After 1 hour and 45 minutesremove the chicken from the oven and turn the heat up to 220°C (428°F).
- Put the chicken back in the oven for 15 minutesor until the skin is nice and crispy.
- Take the chicken out of the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.
