Ingredients
- 1 cup split yellow moong dal (washed and soaked in water for 3 hours)
- 1/4 cup yogurt
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon ginger paste
- 1 teaspoon green chili paste
- 1 teaspoon fruit salt
- 1 tablespoon oil
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnishing
Directions
- Drain the soaked moong dal and blend it into a smooth paste using a blender. Add a little water if needed to make a smooth batter.
- Transfer the moong dal batter into a mixing bowl and add yogurt, turmeric powder, ginger paste, and green chili paste. Mix well to combine all the ingredients.
- Grease a small baking tray or a dhokla plate with oil and pour the batter into it.
- Fill a large pot with water and bring it to a boil. Place a steamer rack in the pot and place the baking tray with the batter on top of it.
- Cover the pot with a lid and steam the dhokla for about 15-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Once done, remove the dhokla from the steamer and let it cool for a few minutes.
- Cut the dhokla into small, bite-sized pieces and garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
