Ingredients
- 500 grams grated beetroot
- 1 tablespoon ghee or vegan butter
- ½ teaspoon cardamom powder
- 2 tablespoons almond flakes (optional)
- ½ cup condensed milk or vegan milk of choice
- 2 tablespoons desiccated coconut
Directions
- Gently heat the ghee or butter in a Heavy-bottomed pan over medium heat.
- Once the ghee or butter is melted add in the grated beetroot.
- Stir the beetroot for 5-7 minutes until it’s cooked.
- Now add the cardamom powder, almond flakes (optional), condensed milk or vegan milk and stir for 2 minutes on low heat.
- Add the desiccated coconut and stir for 2 minutes.
- Cook the halwa for 10-12 minutes over low heat while stirring occasionally until it starts to thicken.
- Serve it warm or cold,
Note: If the halwa is too thick, you can add some water or vegan milk to adjust the consistency.
