Ingredients
- 2 medium potatoes, boiled and mashed
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 1/2 tsp cumin powder
- 1/2 tsp turmeric
- 1/2 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp garam masala
- 1/2 tsp ginger, grated
- 1/2 tsp green chili, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup water
- Ghee or oil for cooking
Directions
- In a mixing bowl, combine the mashed potatoes with cumin powder, turmeric, coriander powder, garam masala, ginger, and green chili. Mix well to ensure all the spices are evenly distributed.
- Gradually add the whole wheat flour to the potato mixture and knead it into a smooth dough. If the dough is too dry, add water little by little until you get the right consistency.
- Divide the dough into 4 equal portions and roll each portion into a ball.
- Take one ball of dough and roll it out into a circle on a floured surface. Aim for a thickness of about 1/4 cm.
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and place the rolled out dough on it. Cook for about 1 minute on each side, or until golden brown spots start to appear.
- Brush some ghee or oil on both sides of the prantha while cooking to make it crispy.
- Repeat the process with the remaining dough balls.
- Serve hot with a dollop of yogurt or a side of chutney.
