Ingredients
- 250g Plain Flour
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 eggs
- 4 tablespoons crème fraiche
- 600g Onions, peeled and sliced
- 4 tablespoons olive oil
- pinch of ground nutmeg
- Salt, to taste

Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).

In a medium mixing bowl, combine the butter and flour until the mixture looks like breadcrumbs.

Add the eggs and crème fraiche and mix until a dough forms.

Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface until it is smooth.

Roll out the pastry until it is about 1/4 inch (0.6 cm) thick and press it into a 9 inch (23 cm) pie dish.

In a separate bowl, combine the onions, olive oil, nutmeg and salt. Mix until the onions are evenly coated.

Spread the onion mixture into the pastry case.

Bake in the pre-heated oven for 40 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown and the onions are cooked.
