Ingredients
- 200g gram flour
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp lemon juice
- 200ml water
- 1 tsp grated ginger
- 1 green chili, finely chopped
- 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Directions
- In a mixing bowl, combine the gram flour, turmeric powder, and baking soda. Give it a good stir with a whisk.
- Slowly add the water while whisking to avoid lumps in the batter. Keep whisking until you have a smooth, thick batter.
- Add the lemon juice, grated ginger, and green chili to the batter. Mix well.
- Grease a small dish with some oil and pour the batter into it.
- In a steamer, steam the batter for 15-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- While the dhokla is steaming, heat a small pan with some oil. Add the mustard seeds and let them splutter.
- Once the dhokla is done, remove it from the steamer and pour the mustard seed mixture over it.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
- Cut the dhokla into toddler-friendly pieces and serve.
