Ingredients
- 250g of fresh clams, already cleaned
- 240g of spaghetti
- 1 garlic clove, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil, extra virgin
- 1 teaspoon of crushed red pepper
- 2 tablespoons of chopped Italian parsley
- Grated parmesan cheese, to taste
Directions
- Prepare the ingredients: Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil, set aside.
- Clean the clams: Clean the clams under cold, running water for about 1-2 minutes.
- Cook the pasta: Cook the spaghetti in the boiling water according to instructions on the packaging, stirring occasionally for even cooking.
- Heat the oil: In a small saucepan, heat the olive oil over high heat.
- Add the other ingredients: When the oil is hot, add the garlic, crushed red pepper flakes and stir for a minute before adding the cleaned clams.
- Cook the clams: Cook the clams until they open (this will only take a few minutes).
- Add the spaghetti: When the clams are opened, add the spaghetti, lower the heat and let it cook for a few minutes, stirring gently so that all the ingredients are mixed together.
- Serve: Transfer the spaghetti vongole onto a large serving plate, sprinkle with parsley and grated parmesan cheese, and serve.
