Ingredients
- 1 cup whole wheat flour (125 grams)
- 2 tablespoons ghee, or butter (25 grams)
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder (2.5 grams)
- 1/4 teaspoon fennel powder (2 grams)
- 1/4 teaspoon coriander powder (2.5 grams)
- 1/4 teaspoon chilli powder (2 grams)
- A pinch of turmeric powder (0.5 grams)
- 1 teaspoon fresh lightly grated ginger (2.5 grams)
- 1/2 cup fresh grated mooli (125 grams)
- 1 teaspoon freshly chopped coriander leaves (5 grams)
- 1/4 cup warm water (50 milliliters)
- Salt, to taste
Directions
-
In a large mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, ghee, cumin, fennel, coriander, chilli, turmeric, and ginger together. Mix well with your hands, making sure everything is evenly distributed.
-
Add in the grated mooli, coriander leaves, salt, and warm water, and knead into a slightly soft dough.
-
Divide the dough into 2 equal balls and roll each ball out into a flat circle on a lightly floured surface.
-
Heat a griddle or non-stick pan over medium heat and place one of the rolled parathas on it.
-
Once you begin seeing small bubbles appear on the top of the paratha, flip it over. Brush some ghee or butter on the top of the paratha and cook for about 1 minute till the other surface becomes slightly golden brown. Flip it over again and brush a bit more ghee or butter on the top and cook for a minute until you get the desired golden colour.
-
Repeat the same steps for the other paratha. Serve hot.
