Ingredients
- 400g mozzarella cheese (in logs or sticks)
- 70g all-purpose flour
- 3 eggs, lightly beaten
- 140g breadcrumbs
- Olive oil, for frying
Directions
- Start by preheating a pot of oil for frying.
- Slice the cheese logs into sticks, making sure that the slices are equal in thickness. (If you’re worried about your toddler getting a cheese surprise, you can use pre-sliced mozzarella sticks too).
- In three shallow dishes, place the flour in the first, the beaten eggs in the second and the breadcrumbs in the third.
- Dip each of the mozzarella sticks into the flour first, then the egg, and then lastly the breadcrumbs.
- Carefully lower the coated mozzarella sticks into the hot oil and fry them until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes. Don’t let that fry time bring you down. Your little one will love it!
- Once the mozzarella sticks are golden brown, carefully remove them from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to remove any excess grease.
- Serve the mozzarella sticks with marinara sauce and enjoy with your family!
Recommended Sides
- Marinara sauce
