Ingredients
- 4 raw shrimps, peeled and deveined
- 200 grams of chicken breast, diced into small bite size pieces
- 200 ml of chilled sparkling water
- 200 grams of all-purpose flour
- 200 grams of panko breadcrumbs
- Oil for frying
- Lemon wedges, for garnish
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Directions
- First, place the chicken and shrimp into two separate bowls and set aside.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour and chilled sparkling water.
- Optional - Add a pinch of salt and pepper to the batter to add more flavour, if desired
- Dip the pieces of chicken and shrimp into the batter until they are each coated and set aside.
- In a separate bowl, place the panko breadcrumbs and season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Dip the chicken and shrimp into the panko breadcrumbs until each piece is well coated and set aside.
- In a large saucepan or frying pan, add enough oil for frying, about 2-3 cm of oil.
- Heat the oil to 180°C/ 350°F.
- Once the oil is hot, start adding the chicken and shrimp pieces one by one.
- Fry the chicken and shrimp pieces until they are golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.
- And remember, kids should always be supervised when frying food
- Once all of the chicken and shrimp pieces are done, remove them from the pan and place them onto a plate lined with paper towels.
- Serve the Ebi Furai hot, with lemon wedges and your favourite dipping sauce.
