Ingredients
- 2 cups self-raising flour
- 2 cups water
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon ground cumin
- 2 carrots, grated
- 1 cup white cabbage, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon chili paste
Directions
-
In a large bowl, combine the self-raising flour, water and vegetable oil. Mix until the dough becomes elastic and forms a ball. Knead the dough for about 5 minutes and then cover with a damp cloth and let it rest for 15 minutes.
-
While the dough is resting, prepare the filling. In a medium bowl, combine the black pepper, ground cumin, carrots, cabbage, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil and chili paste. Mix until fully combined.
-
When the dough is finished resting, divide it into 8-10 pieces. Roll each piece into a circle.
-
To fill each momo, take one of the circles and place one tablespoon of the filling in the center. Gently fold the circle in half and pinch the edges together to form a semi-circle.
-
Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add a few tablespoons of oil. Once the oil is hot, add the momos and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, until golden brown.
-
Serve with your favorite dipping sauce and enjoy!
