Ingredients
- 4 skinless and boneless chicken thighs
- 125ml all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 120ml water
- 3 tbsp cooking oil
- 1/2 tsp dried herbs
Directions
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper.
- Place the chicken thighs in the flour mixture and mix until they are evenly coated.
- In a separate small bowl, whisk together the water and oil.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the chicken thighs to the skillet.
- Pour the water and oil mixture over the chicken.
- Cover the skillet and reduce the heat to low.
- Cook for 15 minutes, flipping the chicken halfway through.
- After 15 minutes, remove the lid and sprinkle the herbs over the chicken.
- Increase the heat and cook for an additional 5 minutes until golden brown.
- Once cooked, remove the chicken from the skillet and place on a plate to cool.
Recommended Sides
Tebazaki pairs nicely with roasted vegetables, steamed rice, or a salad. For the little ones, a bowl of mashed potatoes would also be a great side for this dish. For a bit of fun, try cutting the cooked chicken into strips or slices and let the kids make their own shapes out of it!
