Ingredients
- 20 Betel leaves
- 5 sweet dates (Newjhari Dates) (pitted)
- 5 spoons of coarsely powdered almond (Badam)
- 10 teaspoons of coarsely powdered black sesame (Til)
- 10 teaspoons of peeled and chopped coconut
- 5 teaspoons of aniseed (Saunf)
- 10 teaspoons of coarsely ground cardamom (Elaichi)
- 1 teaspoon of poppy seeds (Khushboo)
- 2 spoon of gulkhand
- 5 spoons of rose petal preserve (gulkhand)
- 5 teaspoons of chopped pistachios
Directions
- Start by washing all the betel leaves in running water and set aside.
- Pit the dates and mash them with the back of a spoon until they are a paste-like consistency.
- In a bowl, combine the badam, til, coconut, saunf, elaichi, poppy seeds, and gulkhand then mix to combine.
- Add the mashed dates, rose petal preserve, and chopped pistachios to the bowl with the other ingredients and mix.
- Take each betel leaf and spoon a heaped teaspoon of the mixture onto the leaf.
- To make a paan shape, fold the edges of the leaf up and shape it into a triangle.
- For a final touch, sprinkle a few chopped pistachios on top.
- Now your paan shots are ready to enjoy!
