Ingredients
- 500g lean lamb, diced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 tsp ginger, grated
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp coriander
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 1/2 tsp garam masala
- 1/2 cup low-sodium chicken broth
- 1/2 cup plain yogurt
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
Directions
- In a large pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic and grated ginger, and cook for another 2 minutes.
- Add the diced lamb to the pot and cook until browned on all sides.
- Sprinkle the cumin, coriander, turmeric, and garam masala over the lamb, and stir to coat evenly.
- Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a simmer.
- Cover the pot and let it cook for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Once the lamb is tender, stir in the plain yogurt and cook for another 5 minutes.
- Serve the Lal mas over steamed rice or with naan bread.
