Ingredients
- 200g of all-purpose white flour
- 250ml of lukewarm milk
- 1 tablespoon of butter
- 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg
- 1 heaped teaspoon of baking powder
- 1 pinch of salt
Directions
- Preheat oven to 180°C.
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, nutmeg and salt.
- Separately, mix milk and butter in a saucepan over low heat until butter is melted.
- Slowly pour the milk-butter mix into the bowl and stir the dough together until a ball forms.
- Knead the dough for 3-5 minutes until it is soft, light and slightly elastic.
- Cut the dough into four equal parts and shape each part into a small ball.
- Line a baking tray with parchment paper and place the Knödel onto the tray. Use a fork to make a pattern onto the top of each Knödel.
- Bake the Knödel in the preheated oven for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
