Ingredients
- 250 g of dried beans or lentils of your choice
- 120 g of your favourite vegetable such as celery, carrots or onions
- 2-3 small potatoes cut in quarters
- 1 bowl of dried barley or cracked wheat
- 250 g of beef chuck, cut into cubes
- 1-2 tsp of paprika
- 1-2 tsp of garlic powder
- 2 tbsp of olive oil
- 5-6 cups of water or vegetable broth
- Salt and pepper to taste
Directions
- Preheat your oven to 350 F (176 C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the beans or lentils, vegetables, potatoes, barley or cracked wheat, beef, paprika, garlic powder, olive oil, salt and pepper.
- Place the mix in an oven safe pot and cover with the water or vegetable broth.
- Place the pot in the preheated oven and cook for 4-7 hours.
- Once the stew is done, turn off the oven and let the stew cool before serving.
