- 2 cups (265 g) of all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon (5 g) baking powder
- 1 cup (212 g) of butter, melted
- 2 tablespoons (30 g) of unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 cup (200 g) of sugar
- 3 eggs
- 2 teaspoons (10 ml) of vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon (6 g) of baking soda
- 1 cup (240 ml) of milk
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease and flour an 8-inch round cake pan.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and cocoa powder.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time.
- Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Beat in the baking soda.
- Alternately beat in the flour mixture and milk.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
- Bake for 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool completely before serving and enjoy!
