Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons (30ml) olive oil
- 2 shallots, minced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 pound (500g) cremini mushrooms, sliced
- 1 tablespoon (15ml) all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons (30ml) white wine
- 2 cups (500ml) vegetable or chicken broth
- 1/4 cup (60ml) heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons (30ml) chopped fresh parsley
- Black pepper to taste
Directions
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the shallots and garlic and cook until soft and fragrant, about 3 minutes.
- Add the mushrooms and cook until lightly browned, about 5 minutes.
- Sprinkle the flour over the mushrooms and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
- Add the white wine and cook until almost evaporated, about 2 minutes.
- Slowly add the broth, stirring constantly. Bring to a simmer and cook until the sauce thickens, about 10 minutes.
- Add the cream, parsley, and black pepper and stir to combine. Simmer for an additional 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Serve hot with your family’s favorite sides!
