Ingredients
- 500g lean beef, diced
- 500g mushrooms, sliced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 tablespoons plain flour
- 500 ml beef stock
- 250 ml double cream
- freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive or vegetable oil
Directions
- Heat the oil in large frying pan over a medium-high heat.
- Add the diced beef and fry until lightly browned.
- Reduce the heat to medium and add the onion and mushrooms, and fry until softened.
- Sprinkle the flour over and mix well.
- Pour in the beef stock and stir until everything is well combined.
- Reduce the heat and simmer for 20 minutes, stirring regularly.
- Add the cream and black pepper, and simmer for a further 10 minutes.
- Serve with mashed potatoes or steamed rice.
