Ingredients
- 300g ground chicken
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 clove of garlic, minced
- 1 carrot, grated
- 1/2 cup cabbage, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
- 1 tbsp soy sauce (make sure it’s peanut-free)
- 1/2 tsp ground ginger
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 24 gyoza wrappers
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
Directions
-
In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, onion, garlic, carrot, cabbage, green onions, soy sauce, ground ginger, and black pepper. Mix well until everything is evenly combined.
-
Take a gyoza wrapper and place a spoonful of the chicken mixture in the center. Wet the edges of the wrapper with a little water, then fold it in half and crimp the edges to seal.
-
Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Place the gyoza in the skillet in a single layer, making sure they don’t touch each other. Cook for 2-3 minutes, or until the bottoms are golden brown.
-
Carefully pour in 1/2 cup of water into the skillet and cover with a lid. Let the gyoza steam for 5-7 minutes, or until the water has evaporated.
-
Remove the lid and let the gyoza cook for another 2-3 minutes, or until the bottoms are crispy again.
-
Serve the gyoza hot with a side of soy sauce for dipping.
