Gratin de courgettes

Ingredients:
- 4 small courgettes
- ½ teaspoon of garlic powder
- 100 mL of single cream
- 80 g of mild grated cheese
- 20 g of butter
- 1 teaspoon of dried herbs
- ¼ teaspoon of freshlyground black pepper
Directions:
- Start by preheating the oven to 200C.
- Wash and dry the courgettes with a kitchen towel andslice into thin rounds.
- Put the butter in a small saucepan and melt over a low heat.
- Once the butter is melted and bubbling, add the garlic powder and stir together for about 30 seconds.
- Add the dried herbs and black pepper and stir for another 30 seconds.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat, and add the single cream to the melted butter.
- Pour the mix into an oven dish and then add the courgettes.
- Sprinkle the cheese on top of the courgettes.
- Place the oven dish in the oven and bake for 25 minutes until the cheese is golden and bubbling.
- Serve the gratin de courgette, and enjoy! (joke alert) Little Johnny says ‘Mommy, can I have seconds?’
