Gefüllte Kohlrouladen

Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 1 large onion (diced)
- ½ kg ground beef
- ½ kg ground pork
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 2 regular-sized carrots (finely grated)
- 2 tablespoons of tomato paste
- 250g mushrooms (diced into small cubes)
- 2 tablespoons of fresh parsley, finely chopped
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
- 2 tablespoons of plain flour
- ¼ l beef stock
- 500g cabbage, cut into 12 layers
- Salt and pepper to taste
Directions
- Heat the olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.
- Add the diced onion and cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add the ground beef and pork to the pan and cook until browned, about 7 minutes.
- Add the garlic, grated carrots, tomato paste, mushrooms, parsley, pepper, and nutmeg. Stir well and cook for another 5 minutes.
- Add the flour and stir until well blended.
- Pour in the beef stock and stir well. Bring to a simmer and cook for 10 minutes.
- After 10 minutes, turn off the heat and let the filling cool down.
- Lay a cabbage leaf on a flat surface; place a generous spoonful of the filling in the center of the leaf. Roll the leaf up and place onto the baking tray seam side down.
- Repeat the process for the remaining leaves and filling.
- Place in preheated oven at 180°C for 30 minutes.
- Serve with a dollop of sour cream and sprinkle of parsley. Bon appetit!
