Ingredients
- 250g sliced mushrooms
- 60g butter
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 5 tablespoons flour
- 300ml chicken or vegetable stock
- 300ml single cream
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
Directions
- Make sure the mushrooms, onion, garlic, and parsley are all prepped and ready to go before beginning.
- In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat and stir in the onions and garlic. Joke: Onion rings that melted?!
- Add the mushrooms and season with salt and pepper. Cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add the flour and stir for another minute.
- Begin to slowly add the stock while stirring at the same time so the mixture doesn’t become lumpy.
- Once all the stock has been added, let simmer for another 5 minutes.
- Stir in the cream and parsley, and simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
- Taste and adjust for seasoning, if necessary. Serve warm.
