Ingredients
- 4 Duck Breasts
- 4 Shallots
- 4 Carrots
- 4 Sprigs of Thym
- 2 Oranges
- 2 Cloves of Garlic
- 2 teaspoon Olive Oil
- 250ml Vegetable Stock
- Salt and Pepper to Taste
Directions
- Preheat your oven to 180°C.
- Peel and cut the shallots into four slices.
- Peel and cut the carrots into two-centimetre thick slices.
- Peel and mince the garlic.
- Put the shallots, carrots, thym sprigs and garlic into an oven dish.
- Drizzle the vegetables with olive oil and mix together.
- Place the duck breasts on top of the vegetables.
- Put the oven dish into the preheated oven and bake for 30 minutes.
- Meanwhile, peel the oranges and slice the segments.
- In a saucepan, heat up the vegetable stock.
- When the duck breasts have cooked for 30 minutes, remove the oven dish from the oven and add the orange slices on top of the duck breasts.
- Pour the hot vegetable stock over the orange slices and duck breasts.
- Carefully put the oven dish back into the preheated oven and let the Canard à l’Orange bake for another 15 minutes (no less than that!).
- When the timer is over, take out the oven dish and enjoy your warm and delicious French dinner!
