Ingredients
- 500g lean ground beef
- 4 ghee (clarified butter) or cooking oil
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 thumb-size piece of ginger, finely chopped
- 2 green chili peppers, finely chopped
- 2 large tomatoes, finely chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 200g diced kaleji (lamb liver)
- 1 tablespoon freshly chopped coriander leaves (optional)
- Ground pepper to taste
Directions
- Heat ghee in a large pan over medium-high heat.
- Add the onions, garlic, ginger, and green chilies and sauté until the onions are softened and lightly browned.
- Add the diced kaleji and cook for 2 minutes, stirring often.
- Add the ground beef and cook for about 10 minutes, until lightly browned.
- Add the chopped tomatoes and cook for 10 minutes, stirring often.
- Add the garam masala, turmeric powder and some freshly ground pepper to the pan and stir everything together.
- Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Finally, add the freshly chopped coriander leaves (optional), stir to combine and remove from heat.
- Your Keema Kaleji is ready!
