INGREDIENTS
- 4 potatoes (400g)
- 1/2 onion, finely chopped (80g)
- 1/2 cup frozen peas (60g)
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander (2.5g)
- 1 teaspoon cumin powder (2.5g)
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper powder (1.5g)
- 1/2 teaspoon garam masala (1.5g)
- 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon of chopped cilantro for garnish
DIRECTIONS
-
Preheat a pan with 1 tablespoon of oil over medium heat.
-
Peel and grate the potatoes, and place them in a bowl.
-
Add the chopped onion, frozen peas, coriander, cumin, black pepper, garam masala, and ginger to the bowl and mix until combined.
-
Divide the potato mixture into 4 portions and shape them into patties.
-
Heat the remaining oil in the pan, and place the patties on it.
-
Cook the patties for about 10 minutes, flipping once, until golden brown and crispy.
-
Serve the aloo tikki warm, with a sprinkle of fresh cilantro, for extra flavor. And that’s what I call a delicious “tikki”time!
