Ingredients
- 5 small shrimps
- 5 mussels
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 2 tablespoons of extra-virgin olive oil
- Half of a cup of fresh parsley, chopped
- Half of a cup of white wine
- Half of a teaspoon of fresh thinly sliced lemon
- A pinch of pepper
- A pinch of chili flakes (optional)
Directions
Step 1: Let’s get the seafood ready! Start by thoroughly washing the shrimps and mussels in a colander. Remove any other dirt or impurities and set aside for later.
Step 2: Peel and finely mince the garlic cloves.
Step 3: In a non-stick pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat and add the minced garlic. Cook for about 2 minutes, stirring continuously to avoid burning the garlic.
Step 4: Add the shrimps and cook for 1 minute.
Step 5: Add the mussels and stir. Cook for additional 2 minutes.
Step 6: Add the wine and cover with a lid. Cook for about 3 minutes or until the mussels are open.
Step 7: Add the parsley, lemon and pepper. Cook for additional 2 minutes. (If you want to add more spiciness, you can sprinkle chili flakes).
Step 8: Serve the meal in plates, with a side of your favorite vegetables. We recommend steamed broccoli, carrots, and peppers!
