Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 block of firm tofu - cut into 1 cm cubes
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1/2 tender onion - diced
  • 2 cloves of garlic - chopped finely
  • 2 tbsp miso paste - mild one preferred
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 cups boiling water

Directions

  1. Heat two tablespoons of oil in a pan over low heat.
  2. Add the onion and garlic. Cook for 2 minutes until fragrant and softened.
  3. Add the tofu cubes and stir to mix everything together.
  4. Raise the heat to medium and cook for 5 minutes more.
  5. Add the miso paste, soy sauce and boiling water. Stir to combine.
  6. Reduce heat to low, cover the pan and simmer for 10 minutes.
  7. Serve with your favorite side dishes.
