Ingredients
- 4 wieners (unsmoked sausage links/Frankfurters, 130 g/4.6 oz each)
- 2 potatoes (peeled, and cut into small cubes, about 130 g/4.6 oz each)
- 1 white onion (peeled and diced, about 150 g/5.3 oz)
- ½ head of cabbage (red, about 200 g/7.1 oz)
- 1-2 pickles (depending on how much pickle flavour you would like, 130 g/4.6 oz)
- 3 tablespoons mustard (30 g/1.1 oz)
- 4 tablespoons of olive oil (44 g/1.6 oz)
- 4 tablespoons of sauerkraut (sour fermented cabbage, 80 g/2.8 oz)
- Salt and pepper (for taste, omit for children)
Directions

Preheat your oven to 160°C (320°F).

Place the wieners on a baking tray and cook in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes, or until golden brown.

While the wieners are cookind, prepare the rest of the ingredients. Peel and cut the potatoes into small cubes, and the onions into small dice.

If your kids are helping you during cooking: Make sure to cut the potatoes and onions into bite sizes that they can easily handle without the risk of choking.

Peel, wash and shred the cabbage into thin strips and then set aside.

Chop the pickles into small cubes and place into a large bowl.

Once the wieners are cooked, remove from the oven and let cool to room temperature.

Slice the wieners into small chunks and add them to the bowl with the pickles.

Add in the potatoes, onions, cabbage, mustard, olive oil, sauerkraut and mix everything together.

Season the Wurstsalat with salt and pepper, if desired (although it is not recommended for children).

Serve the Wurstsalat with your favorite sides.
