Ingredients

  • 200g (7oz) Tori No Katsu
  • 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, grated
  • 1 tablespoon of ginger, grated
  • 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
  • 1 carrot, peeled and finely chopped
  • 1 cup (8 ounces) of water
  • 1 teaspoon of curry powder
  • 2 teaspoons of cornstarch
  • 2 teaspoons of potato flour
  • ¼ teaspoon of ground black pepper

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C/400°F.
  2. Cut Tori No Katsu into smaller pieces and season with pepper.
  3. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  4. Add the onion and garlic and cook for 5 minutes, until the onion has softened.
  5. Add the ginger, cayenne pepper, carrot, and curry powder and cook for another 5 minutes.
  6. Add the Tori No Katsu pieces and cook for 10 minutes, stirring frequently.
  7. Add the water, stirring until the mixture comes to a simmer.
  8. In a small bowl, mix together the cornstarch and potato flour with 1 tablespoon of cold water.
  9. Add the cornstarch mixture to the pan and stir until the sauce thickens, then stir in the black pepper.
  10. Transfer the curry to an oven-proof dish and bake for 25 minutes.
  11. Remove from oven, let cool for 10 minutes, and serve.
