Ingredients

  • 2 sheets of ready made puff pastry
  • 1/2 cup of quark or fromage blanc
  • 1/2 cup of low-fat cream cheese
  • 2 tablespoons of plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar
  • 1 egg (for glaze)
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • 3 teaspoons of lemon zest
  • A pinch of nutmeg
  • A pinch of cinnamon
  • A handful of fresh or frozen blueberries, raspberries, or blackberries

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. Unroll and place one sheet of puff pastry in a greased pie tin or tart pan.

  3. In a bowl, mix together the quark, cream cheese, yogurt, sugar, lemon zest, nutmeg, and cinnamon.

  4. Carefully spread the cream cheese mixture over the puff pastry.

  5. Place the second sheet of puff pastry on top of the cream cheese mixture. Crimp the edges to seal in the filling.

  6. In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and butter. Brush the glaze over the top of the pastry.

  7. Bake the tart in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown.

  8. Allow the tart to cool before serving.

  9. Optional: Add a few fresh or frozen berries to the top of the tart to add some color and sweetness!

Try serving the tart with a scoop of natural vanilla ice cream or fresh whipped cream for added sweetness. You can also serve a side of plain yogurt, if desired. If you want to make a really special dinner, then try it with a side of salad. Enjoy!
