General Information

Ingredients

  • 4 skinless, boneless chicken legs
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons plain yogurt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cumin
  • ¼ teaspoon ground coriander
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon ground turmeric
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons peanut-free vegetable oil
  • A handful of cilantro leaves (optional)

Directions

  1. Start by prepping the chicken. Cut each chicken leg into several pieces and put them in a large bowl.

  2. In a small bowl, add the 2 tablespoons of lemon juice, yogurt, ground cumin, ground coriander, ground nutmeg, garlic powder, ground turmeric, and black pepper. Stir the ingredients until they are well combined.

  3. Pour the mixture from the small bowl into the large bowl containing the chicken pieces. Mix the ingredients so that the chicken is well coated with the marinade. Cover the bowl and let it sit in the refrigerator overnight, up to a maximum of 24 hours.

  4. Preheat your oven to 350°F (176°C).

  5. Grease a baking tray with the peanut-free vegetable oil. Place the chicken pieces on the baking tray. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes, or until cooked through.

  6. If desired, garnish the tandoori chicken with fresh cilantro leaves.
