Ingredients

  • 500g Soya Chunks
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 piece ginger, finely chopped
  • 1 green chilli, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • ½ teaspoon garam masala
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 capsicum, diced
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh coriander

Directions

  1. Soak the soya chunks in cold water for 20 minutes.

  2. Heat the oil in a large pan over medium heat. When the oil is hot, add the garlic, ginger, and chilies and cook for about 1 minute, stirring constantly.

  3. Add the soy sauce, red chilli powder, garam masala, and ground black pepper and cook for another minute.

  4. Add the diced onion and capsicum and cook, stirring occasionally, for a few minutes until the vegetables have softened.

  5. Add the drained soya chunks to the pan and mix everything together. Stir in the tomato paste and cook for a few minutes.

  6. Finally, add the chopped fresh coriander and cook for a few more minutes.

  7. Serve the Soya Manchurian hot with your favorite garnish or side dish.
