Ingredients
- 250g ground chicken
- 1 carrot, grated
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup peas
- 1/4 cup corn
- 1/4 cup cooked rice
- 2 tbsp soy sauce (make sure it’s peanut-free)
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
Directions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, grated carrot, chopped onion, peas, corn, and cooked rice.
- Add in the soy sauce and mix everything together until well combined.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
- Form the chicken mixture into small balls and place them in the skillet. Cook for about 5 minutes, or until browned on all sides.
- In a small bowl, mix the water and cornstarch together to create a slurry.
- Pour the slurry over the chicken balls in the skillet and stir gently to coat.
- Cover the skillet and let the Shichi-Mai simmer for another 10 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.
- Serve the Shichi-Mai hot and enjoy!
