  • A good pinch of saffron
  • 2 ½ cups vegetable broth
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon ground turmeric
  • ½ teaspoon ground cumin
  • ½ teaspoon ground ginger

Directions

  1. Start off by making sure the rice is washed properly. Don’t let dad skimp on this step since it helps get rid of bacteria and makes cooking it easier!
  2. In a pot, heat the olive oil over low-medium heat.
  3. When the oil is hot, stir in the saffron, cumin, ginger and turmeric for about half a minute.
  4. Add the washed rice and stir for a few minutes until it’s evenly coated in the mixture.
  5. Now add the vegetable broth and bring everything to a boil.
  6. Once it starts boiling, lower the heat and let the pot simmer for about 20 minutes. Make sure to keep stirring it and adding more broth as needed so it doesn’t get too dry.
