Ingredients

  • 200g plain flour
  • 180ml cold water
  • 2 tsp olive oil
  • 55g butter
  • 200g cream cheese
  • 2 tsp ground nutmeg

Directions

  1. Gather all your ingredients on the kitchen bench and make sure you have all you need to hand.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, olive oil, and cold water to make a dough. Mix together for 5 minutes or until the texture is smooth.
  3. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 3 minutes.
  4. Separate the dough into 4 equal sizes and roll each piece into a round flat shape about 20cm in diameter and 0.5cm thick. Joke: “Remember, you’re the twister, not the thrower!”
  5. Spread the cream cheese evenly on each of the rondures.
  6. Cut the butter into small, equal size cubes and spread evenly across the cream cheese.
  7. Sprinkle the ground nutmeg on top of each Kringel.
  8. Roll the rondures into large spirals.
  9. Preheat oven to 180C and bake for 40 minutes or until the Kringel is golden brown.
