Ingredients

  • 2 cups spinach, washed and chopped
  • 1 cup green peas, thawed if frozen
  • 1 large potato, boiled and mashed
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/2 tsp cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/4 tsp chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp ginger paste
  • 1/4 tsp garlic paste
  • 2 tbsp oil for cooking

Directions

  1. In a large pot, bring water to a boil and blanch the chopped spinach for 2 minutes. Drain and rinse with cold water to stop the cooking process.
  2. In a food processor, combine the blanched spinach, green peas, mashed potato, bread crumbs, cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala, turmeric powder, chili powder, ginger paste, and garlic paste. Blend until well combined.
  3. Take small portions of the mixture and shape them into small patties, making sure they are not too thick or too thin.
  4. Heat oil in a non-stick pan over medium heat. Place the patties in the pan and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, until they are golden brown and crispy.
  5. Remove the kababs from the pan and place them on a paper towel to absorb any excess oil.
  6. Serve the hara bhara kababs hot with ketchup or chutney.
