Grilled Halloumi and Caramelised Orange Skewers

Halloumi is a great source of protein for children and can be easily incorporated into meals. Halloumi is also lower in fat, making it a healthier choice than many other types of cheese.

Ingredients

  • 150g halloumi cheese, cut into 2.5cm cubes
  • 2 oranges, cut into 2.5cm cubes
  • 4 wooden skewers, soaked in cold water for 30 minutes
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 2 sprigs of rosemary, leaves removed and finely chopped

Directions

  1. Coat the halloumi cubes and orange cubes in olive oil.
  2. Thread a cube of halloumi followed by a cube of orange onto each skewer.
  3. Heat a grill pan over medium heat and lightly grease the pan with a little more olive oil.
  4. Grill the skewers until golden brown and the halloumi has softened, about 5 minutes on each side.
  5. Sprinkle the rosemary over the top and serve hot with a side salad.
