Toddler-Friendly Flan

Ingredients:

  • 2 eggs
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 2 cups of whole milk
  • 3/4 cup of cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • A pinch of ground cinnamon
  • Unsalted butter (1 tablespoon for greasing the dishplus more to brush over the ramekins)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (177°C).

  2. Grease the dish with a tablespoon of butter.

  3. In a large bowlwhisk together the eggsegg yolksmilkcornstarchvanilla extractand ground cinnamon until the mixture is smooth.

  4. Pour the mixture into the greased dish.

  5. Bake for about 35 minutes or until the mixture is lightly browned and set.

  6. Meanwhilegrease four ramekins with butter and set aside.

  7. When the flan is done bakinglet it cool for 15 minutesthen carefully transfer the flan from the dish to the ramekins.

  8. Place the ramekins in a baking dish filled with a shallow layer of hot water.

  9. Bake for another 5 minutesor until the flan is golden brown and a knife inserted into the center comes out clean.

  10. Take out the ramekins with a hot pad and let cool completely.

  11. Serve with a sprinkle of ground cinnamon – orto make it extra specialyou can top the flan with some fresh fruit! After allsharing is caring (wink wink)!
