Ingredients:

  • 120g cooked ham, diced
  • 400g minced beef
  • 30g plain flour
  • 100ml white wine
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons bread crumbs
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 500g potatoes, thinly sliced
  • freshly ground pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C.
  2. In a bowl, combine the ham, beef, flour, white wine, egg, breadcrumbs, parsley, garlic and pepper. Mix until you have a firm, but malleable mixture.
  3. Take a teaspoon of the beef mixture and form into a round patty. Continue until all the mixture is used up.
  4. In an oven-proof dish, spread half of the potatoes over the bottom. Add the patties, forming a single layer. Top with the remaining potatoes.
  5. Drizzle the melted butter over the top and season with freshly ground pepper.
  6. Place in preheated oven and bake for 30 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the patties are cooked through.
  7. Serve hot with some extra parsley and freshly ground pepper for presentation - voila!
