Ahhh the French! Everyone knows their cuisine is world-famous and their filet mignon is no exception. This recipe is tailored for toddlers but an adult version is available for everyone else. No salt or sugar necessary for this delicious recipe and we’ve avoided any ingredients that present choking hazards for toddlers. Bon Appétit!
Ingredients
- 2 steaks of filet mignon (180g each)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil (20ml)
- 1 tablespoon butter (10g)
- 1 teaspoon black pepper (5g)
- 1 teaspoon chopped thyme (5g)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder (2g)
- 2 teaspoons chopped parsley (10g)
- 1 teaspoon crushed oregano (5g)
Directions
- Preheat oven to 200 degrees Celcius and lightly grease a baking sheet with butter.
- Combine the black pepper, thyme, garlic powder, parsley, and oregano in a small bowl and stir to combine.
- Rub each filet mignon steak with the olive oil and then evenly sprinkle the spice mix over the meat.
- Place the steaks onto the baking sheet and bake for 12 minutes (they should reach an internal temperature of 60 degrees Celcius).
- After 12 minutes, turn the steaks over and bake for another 6-7 minutes.
- Take the steaks out of the oven and sizzle in the butter for 1-2 minutes.
- Serve with your favorite tots and veggies for a meal your little ones will love!
