  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons of fresh parsley, chopped

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (392°F).

  2. Place the peas into a large bowl and rinse with cold water, draining any excess water.

  4. Spread the mixture onto a baking sheet and roast in the oven for 15 minutes.

  5. Meanwhile, add the ham cubes to a frying pan and cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the ham is lightly browned.

  8. Serve the Erbseneintopf with freshly baked bread and a healthy salad.

Note: Kids helping in the kitchen? Have them measure out the ingredients with kid-safe measuring cups and spoons. They’ll love being able to help mom or dad in the kitchen, so don’t forget to praise and reward them for their hard work with a fun joke or two:

  • Q: What did the peas say to the potatoes?

  • A: “We go great together!”
