Ingredients

  • 250g sliced mushrooms
  • 60g butter
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 5 tablespoons flour
  • 300ml chicken or vegetable stock
  • 300ml single cream
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped

Directions

  1. Make sure the mushrooms, onion, garlic, and parsley are all prepped and ready to go before beginning.
  2. In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat and stir in the onions and garlic. Joke: Onion rings that melted?!
  3. Add the mushrooms and season with salt and pepper. Cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Add the flour and stir for another minute.
  5. Begin to slowly add the stock while stirring at the same time so the mixture doesn’t become lumpy.
  6. Once all the stock has been added, let simmer for another 5 minutes.
  7. Stir in the cream and parsley, and simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
  8. Taste and adjust for seasoning, if necessary. Serve warm.
