Ingredients

  • 400g lean ground beef
  • 400g parboiled rice
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 2 cloves of garlic (chopped or minced)
  • 5 small yellow onions
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon ground allspice
  • freshly ground black pepper
  • pinch of nutmeg

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350F (176C).
  2. In a large pan, heat 2 tablespoons of oil and fry the garlic and onions until softened.
  3. Add the ground beef and continue to fry until the beef is cooked through.
  4. Once cooked, add the parboiled rice to the pan, stirring gently until combined.
  5. In a bowl, mix together the cinnamon, allspice, pepper and nutmeg.
  6. Add the mixture to the pan and stir until evenly distributed.
  7. Grease a baking dish with oil and spoon the beef and rice mixture into it.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
  9. Serve with a side salad. “That’s what you call a perfect kiddo meal!”
