INGREDIENTS

  • 4 potatoes (400g)
  • 1/2 onion, finely chopped (80g)
  • 1/2 cup frozen peas (60g)
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander (2.5g)
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder (2.5g)

  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala (1.5g)
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon of chopped cilantro for garnish

DIRECTIONS

  1. Preheat a pan with 1 tablespoon of oil over medium heat.

  2. Peel and grate the potatoes, and place them in a bowl.

  3. Add the chopped onion, frozen peas, coriander, cumin, black pepper, garam masala, and ginger to the bowl and mix until combined.

  4. Divide the potato mixture into 4 portions and shape them into patties.

  5. Heat the remaining oil in the pan, and place the patties on it.

  6. Cook the patties for about 10 minutes, flipping once, until golden brown and crispy.

  7. Serve the aloo tikki warm, with a sprinkle of fresh cilantro, for extra flavor. And that’s what I call a delicious “tikki”time!
